There is lots of evidence. I used to laud MLK as much as anyone else until I found out about his plagarism. It saddens me that this man, who has made such an impact on our culture and history, that he concievably did this. Don't believe me if you want. Do the research yourself. And yes, you will be as shocked as I was when I first found out. And no, I'm not going to go around decrying him, I just think that people should know the truth. Hate the sin, not the sinner. (Because we all have definitely made mistakes in life, but it's sad when you find out about one this big.) If you believe he did it, why do you think he did this dishonest thing?

Yes, it is true. But never spoken. I don't know why he did it.

Edited to say:

I'm amused that I get a thumbs down for my answer. It is not even a debate as to the actual facts of the matter. Rationalizing poor choices doesn't help the matter. I made no disparaging remarks about the man. He did what he did. Don't blame me.

King Solomon, way back in the Old Testament, said that there is "nothing new under the sun".
Solomon was correct, and there are very few new ideas, concepts, theses, and speeches around now, either.
As a tiny example, I have posted answers here on YA and seen the exact quote of my answer given by another poster--to the letter. It happens.
I think this allegation was made to discredit King precisely because he was and continues to be such a ray of light for all oppressed people. I also believe it was begun by a person or group with a small, stingy mind.
Good luck.

He is just a man, just as everyone else. Stupid to put someone human on a pedestal. Maybe he got to big for himself. When it comes to someone in the brightlights they always have something hidden in the closet. And if ppl do not believe that then they are fools and kidding themselfs.

If he didn't graduate High School it wouldn't diminish the great things he did. We don't want to throw out the baby with the bath water. MLK did some great things for not only black people but for the world. It doesn't matter if he had a Dr. before his name or not.

plagiarism is easier than doing all the work yourself. so if he did plagiarise he was weak at the time and sccumbed to
his baser urges like most humans.
maybe he regretted his mistake.
who knows what he was thinking.
he was very anti semitic though and this i do not like.

MLK proved his intelligence at the podium. For an example of someone who fits your question, substitute GWB for MLK.

I read that M.L cheated on Coretta Scott, too. I believe that if you're going to talk the talk, walk the walk.
