then all your prayers will be used up when you really need them. Please no lectures about this isn't true, I just need to know if anybody else has these ideas in the back of their mind.

I always just think that prayer is the power of positive thinking. Imagine, a person needs money for their mortgage and prays for it to come in and asks all their friends to pray as well.
The what do you know? Money starts coming in. God? Or just more people know knowing about the need? The person just started being proactive in their quest for obtaining money.
So if my theory is correct, then you can't use up your prayers. And praying will only help you help yourself. So knock yourself out.
