My MS outlook 2003 when i try to use it, it only shows on the screen for a second. I have tried re-installing, viruse scan, and re-starting the computer. Nothing work. Any ideas

Well, you probably have a corrupted outlook.pst file. Make sure Outlook is not running and do a file search in windows to find your outlook.pst file and rename it. Restart Outlook and that should fix it, however you may have to put all your settings in again. Also, since your emails are stored in the .pst file you may have to try to import them from the corrupted file (hopefully that will be ok)

Make sure Outlook is closed and try this...

Start > Run > outlook.exe /cleanprofile (enter)

If Outlook doesn't open. Fine the .OST file on your hard drive and rename it, then try Outlook again.

When you say "re-installing", do you mean you un-installed and then installed, or just ran the re-install?


If it was the later, try removing it completely and then installing
