An editorial is usually written by a paid member of the paper's staff; and explains the paper's "view" on the subject.
If a member of the general public writes the same thing, it can be printed as a "guest editorial" (rare), or as a "letter to the editor" (more common).

Just write something that bashes President Bush, how much you love George Soros, that Hillary Clinton is a real peach, illegal immigrants should be allowed to roam free and do what ever they want, how Bill Clinton was a great president, that you think Nancy Pelosi would be a great president, that you thought it was just great how they leaked classified information, that you think raising taxes is a good idea, how San Francisco has the correct idea about disarming the entire country by eliminating the Army, Navy, Air Force and Marine Corp and then send it to the New York Times. It's guaranteed to wind up in their newspaper. Anything that far left liberal they can't resist printing.
