As a child, Mickey Mantle. As a young man, Don Mattingly. Today, Derek Jeter.
Also I always found myself following the careers of players like Tom Seaver, Mike Schmidt, Dwight Evans, ( who I think was the greatest right fielder of his generation and should be in the hall of fame), Yaz!!, Roberto Clemente just to name a few.

Ty Cobb is my alltime favorite person. He was the man, a great tough player. Chase Utley is my favorite player right now. He hustles, has a power swing, can steal a bag and hits for average.

Past - Rickey Henderson. Mr. Excitement. Could lead off with a single. Steal two bases and get home. Or lead off with a HR.
Present - Ichiro Suzuki. See above.

Julio Franco because i love people who work as long as they can so they can benefit their fans, and the game of baseball. I hate when they retire at 35 because if i retired at 35 i would be broke.
