As I am sitting in the plane headed for Ireland, I cannot believe I will be spending time in a haunted castle, am I crazy! Why did I let my 2 crazy friends talk me into this...hmmm are they friends? I wonder.
Along comes the flight attendant we are almost there, about a hour of flight time left, oh I am on edge, even my mouth is dry. I look up at her and to get in the spirit of beautiful Ireland. I decide to use my accent, I've been practicing for a month! Could ye spare me a wee bit of tea, lassie? She appears amused at this, and gives me a nod and a wink, somehow I am getting a slight bit calmer.
Oh how I enjoy my tea, before I know it we are landing. There we are met by a very odd looking fellow, who seems all to delighted at our spending the night in this castle. He assures us he will see we get settled in, and also offers to cook us a meal.
We all are busy getting settled, while Mr. O'Brian, I now know his name, is busy in the kitchen cooking. He then yells out in his thick irish accent, dinner lassie's. We proceed to a massive dining room, to a massive pot of I don't know what! Oh no now this, but hunger talks me into giving it a try. Dinner was different....ugh. We all look at each other, oh did anyone pack tums?
It still is light outside, and I decide I will take a walk it truly is a beautiful sight! As I am strolling, I am almost forgetting my fear. I cannot help but be awed by the beauty that surrounds me, and the sheep and oh the wild flowers and green as green can be rolling hills.
But all of a sudden I get a feeling of eyes on me! If that sheepherder looks at me ONE more time...I know what I will do with his staff!!! I then storm back in, so angry I almost forget this is a haunted castle...hmm did I really see a sheepherder?
Night has fast approached. The wind was howling like a herd of banshees. Now I and my 2 friends are really on edge! Shadows everywhere, oh now are imaginations are running wild!! Our hearts sound almost as loud as the wind!
I decide to tell my friends a thing or two, I didn't want to be a part of this. If you see a ghost, please don't bother telling me. I then tell them in my best irish, lassie's this lassie is going home!
I am packing up. I will take any flight by this time, this is a creepy place, my mind say's lassie go home, I can't help but giggle! Wish I were home in my bed watching TV Land, Gunsmoke and Lassie shows! Oh that sounds so safe and secure, compared to this haunted castle!
I am heading for the door, with my bags in tow. All of a sudden, I feel something, no no this is just my fear! Please tell me that it's YOUR hand on my shoulder!
All I hear is the laughter of my friends, I look at them wondering have they gone mad! They are now rolling on the floor, I see now this was all a prank! Oh these two lassie's have it coming to them. But for right now, I'll join in the laughter, knowing all is well. Seems a big joke was on me!
The End

(2)The wind was howling like a herd of banshees as we got up from the table. I had been excited by the idea of eating in a real haunted house, but that had quickly changed when I saw the sheepherder standing in the kitchen, cooking up some kind of stew that looked like a cross between a pile of mud and wood. I glanced slowly at my friend, who shared my disgusted expression.
(4)"If that sheepherder looks at me ONE more time......" she started. "Oh and the dinner--" she trailed off when the sheepherder shot an ugly look in our direction.
(5)"Dinner was...different," I finished. Ugh, I thought. "Well, I'm going to bed. (6)If you see a ghost, please don't bother telling me."
I climbed lazily up the steps and sat down on the rock solid bed I was to sleep in. "Ouch! Maybe I should just sleep standing up!" I stood up, as if to really pretend to do that. Just as I did, a hand was placed on my shoulder. With the idea that my friend was behind me, I said, "(3)Please tell me that it's YOUR hand on my shoulder, Kayleigh!" I was more afraid of it being that creepy sheepherder. I whirled around to see a glowing green figure standing before my eyes.
"(1)Could ye spare me a wee bit of tea, lassie?" The mysterious being asked. I screamed and dashed out of the room.
