I've been under a lot of stress lately, and with OGT's next week, and much more coming up, I just need to find a way to destress that works. In January I got into a pretty bad breakup. The next day, my first horse died. She was a 23 yr old arabian mare, and put the shine in my eyes and the warmth in my heart. I've been involved in FFA, 4H, Student Council, school musical, driver's ed., cheerleading (tryouts the week of final dress rehearsal!) and babysitting. My summer won't be much better with a trip to Europe and counseling at some camps, along with 4H. All of this has been weighing so heavily on me, and I just need to de-stress, and try to find myself again. I've feared depression, but its not that severe.I want that place that I used to have when I would ride my horse Chester in the fields, no saddle and just a halter and bridle. I want that total piece and happiness, or something similar because it will never be the same with Chester gone. Thanks to everyone, and God Bless

Man, that sucks. I'm sorry you've had such a crappy time. Whenever I get depressed I exercise. I heard somewhere that afterwards your body produces endorphins, which will boost your mood and lower your blood pressure. It sounds like you do a lot already, so if you are too tired, I would take a bath, lock the door, put on some good music, and just go out of your head for a bit. Hope you feel better!

Yoga/meditation might help. Exercise does help 'cos it releases endorphins. You'll just have to see what works for you. Seems like you already have a lot of things on your schedule....but it sounds more like a schedule rather than something you enjoy doing and relax while you do it. Take some time out for yourself. Go to the lake or a park or beach....spend time alone from your schedule and world. Though Chester is not with you right now, you have to find what is that something similar that gives you happiness without being dependent on others. I am also sorry about your breakup....give yourself time to heal and take it slow...a day at a time. Hope this helps. Best.

my god! i love horses! i wish i was in a position or as furtunate enough to have one! how great. i would replace a pony with one that needs a home! there are some many horses that go to the slaughter houses in texas and illinios. adopt one! but another thing you can do is drop a few things and focus on the most important and the activity that makes you the happiest! you have to much on your plate. something has got to give and that will be you if you dont slow down! sorry bout your horse, just think you experienced having a horse which i can only dream of! i will get one in a few years and im going to save one for sure. to many die! please slow down! april ps. coming from someone who had a lot of experience with relationships, you will go through a lot, the right person will come a long when you are a person who you know and trust and that person is whole as well! dont sweat it now!!!!

Have you ever heard of Himalayan Goji Juice? As an adaptogen, goji helps the body to adapt and to cope with stress. It provides the energy reserves to help you handle just about any difficulty.

Tai Chi is a wonderful way to de-stress. It is very easy, relaxing, and you don't even have to go to a gym! There are many video's out there that will teach you step by step. Give it a try...and I am very sorry to hear about your lovely horse passing...hang in there :)
