I was watching that show today and one of the questions asked when Abraham Lincoln started his presidency. They said the correct answer is 1860 but it's actually 1861. Did anybody catch that?

As far as I know, they asked when he was elected. He was elected in 1860, but sworn into office in 1861. It really depends on the wording.

Actually, the question was in what year was he first ELECTED? His presidency began in 1861, but he was elected in 1860, much like our Presidents are today.

He was "elected" on November 6, 1860, but was not inaugurated until March of 1861. So, I guess it depends on how technical you want to be.
