I think alot depends on the age of your children. When my children were young, we would go to the beach. The seafood was always good and it was nice getting there and not spending so much time in the car. You could try the Gulf Coast (Destin) and Florida is always a fun place to go. A few days at Disney World is also fun. Happy Traveling!!

Well, it really depends on what you want to see. The Virginia Beach area is really nice with TONS of stuff to see and do within an hour of the beach. Lots of museums, aquariums, battlefields, Busch Gardens.....the list can go on. And eating out and seafood? Our favorite restaurant in the Hampton Roads area (for seafood) is Captain George's Seafood. They have a huge buffet for about $23 a person, but it's all you can eat seafood (including snow crab legs), salads, and desserts. Pretty good deal for the price. They also have a regular menu you can order off of too.
Another popular tourist area is the Outer Banks in North Carolina, which is only about 2 hours or so away from Virginia Beach. There's tons of beaches, lots of sight seeing (Wright Brothers memorial) and tons of restaurants there too.

Don't know where you're from....but in my opinion-MAUI!!!! Either the Wailea or Kaanapali area to be specific. I've been there every summer since I was small and now my kids are experiencing the same amazing memories I did as a child on Maui!! If price is not an issue-stay at the Grand Wailea in Wailea or the Kaanapalii Alii in Kaanapalii-you won't be disappointed!

Myrtle Beach, South Carolina is a great destination. There are tons of things to do for all ages and the prices are cheaper than going to Florida. There are plenty of seafood places and it is a rated as one of the top family destinations in the US. There are many websites but my favorite is myrtlebeachlive.com

To my house! lol No, I don't have lobster but I can cook the heck out of shrimp and fish. :) Don't forget the jambalaya ! Shrimp and fish reminds me of New Orleans. I'm going to ride the train there for my spring break. :)
