I'm on birth control and I noticed that when I did get my period, the blood was a dark red. Is that bad?

I had just started taking "ortho tri cyclen lo" birth control and I got to the sugar pills and I got my period and the blood was a dark red almost black color. I was worried because early when I took my pill, I had a accident happen with a condom breaking and I was just starting and on my 5th pill ( you're suppose to wait 10 days before having sex to make the pill effective) and so I took the morning after pill. Now I was just wondering if the colored blood is bad?

take some asbern it will make you blead a lot

Sometimes you may have the dark red blood at the beginning or at the end of your period. You are totally normal.
