A Gimp is a Gormless Immature Person, an acronym conceived by me in 1976 no reference to this word can be found prior to that date!

1. gimp
(1) a derrogatory term for someone that is disabled or has a medicial problem that results in physical impairment.
(2) An insult implying that someone is incompetent, stupid, etc. Can also be used to imply that the person is uncool or can't/won't do what everyone else is doing.
(3) A sex slave or submissive, usually male, as popularlized by the movie Pulp Fiction.
-Look at that gimp in the wheelchair
-Dude, quit being a gimp and take a hit!
-Bring out the gimp!
2. Gimp
A male BDSM rubber/leather slave. Specificaly, refers to slave in full-body suit - eg, rubber leather enclosure suits, and (this is the key thing) a full head mask.

the collins dictionary (last reprint to hand 1991) reference for: gimp or (alternate spelling) guimpe: a tapelike trimming
if this has onother more up to date meaning i do not know of hand. so who ever is using it may be using the word incorrectly or maybe it is used as an accronym for "Gormless Immature Moronic Person" but that is just what i came up with here and it could mean anything in this day and age.

To my knowledge it is an old expression for a person with a limp or walking dissability "He is gimpy"
