the stock market not only affects the U.S. but the world it is a very delicate balance of world trading and exporting. Just look at what happened in the Great Depression the last time the stock market fell. If it wasn't for WW II and President Roosevelt we would still be in the Depression.

the stock market itself will not affect you, it merely reflects other situations that may affect you whether it be recession, inflation and different things like that. If you are in the market than there are numerous ways it can affect you. If you are in the market and you are still asking this question i recommend you pull your money out and invest in CDs lol.
