When babies start putting everything they find in their mouths, you do not need to sterilize anymore. Wash them in hot soapy water.

Everything that's being published lately reccomends sterilizing brand new items (bottles, nipples & sippy items), or anything that hasn't been used in more than two weeks. Instead of sterilizing every time, just wash with hot soapy water and rinse thoroughly (duh, who doesn't rinse the soap of their dishes, right?).

If you have heavily treated (chlorine or floride) town/city water you may wish to boil your dish water or just continue sterilizing items for each use.

However if you have good untreated water (maybe you should get your well water tested if you've never done this before?) this should be unneccesary.

If you still want to sterlize everything, or want an easier/more convenient way to do it, most stores (walmart, target, etc) carry sterlizing bags, you fill them up with water, put the bottles & things inside, and place the bag in the microwave. Should be much more convenient.

Hope this helps!

You stop when the baby stops taking a bottle. Then you have to sterilize the sippy cups. All of the sterilization stops when they stop taking things with lids
