You can totally find out after week 16, even if it's a girl, it's very obvious, it's not just a the presence or lack of something that they look for to determine the baby's sex. Plus ultrasounds are so much clearer now than they even were when I had my first 6 years ago, even my two year olds ultrasound isn't as clear as the one I am carrying now and my doctor does an 18 week one, not 20, and that was in October. Amazing technology!

Hey there. I'm pregnant too, and I was 15 weeks when I found out it might be girl, but they were using a level 2-D ultrasound in the hosptial. My dr. did one in his office when I was 16 weeks, but it was only at 1-D level. He could barely tell me, but was so-so if it was still a girl. I'm 18 weeks now, and I'm waiting to have an 4-D ultrasound that will show everything.

It depends on how far long, and how good the machine is, and what level. But yea, it's def. possible they can tell what the baby is.

The baby will differentiate (develop boy or girl parts) around 14 wks. I had an ultrasound at 15 wks with my first pregnancy and we could see clear as day that it was a boy. With my second I had an ultrasound at 13 wks and there was no differentiation yet, but at 17 wks we were able to see. So you should have no problem at 17 wks unless the baby isn't cooperating!

They should be able to tell by then. I just hope you don't get a surprise like we did! I had 10 ultrasounds and everytime they told me I was having a girl. Well, 5 seconds after they started my c-section and pulled the baby out, the doctor said "It's a boy!" I was shocked, but overjoyed! I wish you the best.

It is possible to know starting at 16 weeks pregnant. The best bet is when you are 20 weeks pregnant because all of the baby's anatomy is all intact.

It is possible to find out, it depends on the sonographer (person doing the sonogram), if they have been doing it for a while they might be able to tell, it also depends on how the baby is positioned, when i had my 20 week ultrasound, they knew right away i was having a boy cuz he flashed us...lol...good luck and hope you find out soon

it is possibel at 17 weeks, but better to wait til 18 to 20 weeks. A week makes a big difference.
