I spent a summer studying in Florence, Italy, and unlike your other answerers, I did NOT like the pizza! Everything else was fantastic, but I HATED the pizza! Most likely because I grew up in the mid-west, and my idea of a good pie was Pizza Hut and the like. I just didn't know any better.

p.s. Re: Mexican food -- Where I grew up, guacamole was nothing more than sour cream with green food coloring. Imagine my surprise when I moved to Los Angeles!

Very delicious and not anything like what they serve in the States....especially in those so-called fast food Italian restuarants. You should come to Italy and try the food, you will be amazed at the quality and love Italians have of food and eating in general. Please, if you come to Italy don't just eat pizza and sandwhiches like a lot of tourists do in order to save money......you'll miss out on a lot!

I've been living in Italy 8 years now.

What I had eaten was pretty bland, hardly any seasonings...
Wanna hear an Italian Chef go ballistic, ask for some seasonings... Happened to me in Naples, Italy in 1980

Yes; several times. It seems to be a little spicier and generally has more tomato in the sauces.

No. But one of my friends have. Her father is in the US military and she was stationed over there as a teenager. (in college now). She says it is so great. Pizza and spaghettis is so good she says. So original and fresh! She sold me on it. I want to go visit one day.
