what do you do when your friend always looks for the negative way out?

my friend always says all this negative stuff about her self but she doesnt try nething. she would complain about not getting good grades but she doesnt try and i tried to incorage her to do better but she wont listen.
what do i do?

find a new friend, you don't want to be exposed to all that negativity all the time, some of it might rub off on you
