when you say he is loosing the tip like how far down the tail. is it just a flake of a scale at the end or is like 1/4 inch. molting/shedding is normal and the skin at the end can look something like he is loosing the tip. but I will assume he is actually loosing the tip. and you have not mentioned any other beardies in there with him. neosporum is great to put on any cut or abrasion whether human or animal. it also decreases the chance for infection. if you are sure he is loosing the tip because of trauma the livestock vet has at least some training and access to antibiotics and can refer you to a herp vet if that is what he feels you need. if he does have trauma try and identify what happened so you can eliminate it and keep it from happening again.

This is definitely not normal. Beardies have different types of tails than most lizards do. They do not "drop" their tails the way many lizards do, for instance, when threatened; they also do not regenerate the way other lizard tails do. Usually if there is tail damage on a Bearded Dragon, it is from rough handling, injury within the aquarium, or the presence of an offending tankmate. My Beardie has a slight kink in his tail from an injury. Any sort of loss of the tail is a cause for serious concern, reason being the potential for infection which spreads rapidly through a reptile. I have often found with my reptiles, that by the time you see noticeable signs of infection, it is often a condition they have had for a long time. This is because reptiles are often very stoic about being in pain. I recommend that you look up your local and/or state herpetological society to find a recommended veterinarian ASAP, or you may have a bigger problem with your Beardie in the long run.

I hate to hear about any animal in potential trouble, and your Beardie will be in my thoughts and prayers!

He might just be shedding, but if its more than just a little skin it is NOT normal. If there are any other dragons in the cage you need to take them out. If you don't have an extra tank a cat or dog carrier will work. Then you should take your pet to the nearest vet, even if its not a professional in reptiles. Your dragon cuold have tail rot or, if you have another dragon in the cage it could have bitten your pet. I own bearded dragons and you should probably put some neosporin or triple antibiotic on its tail.

No it is not normal . He needs to be seen by a vet . Is there another Bearded Dragon in the same cage with him ? If so separate them . The one may have bitten the other .

Take to vet immediately! If there was more then one beardie in there remove the other one. they might be fighting. Also its tail could of gotten smashed so until you get a vet appointment I would keep it clean and use neosporn. Good Luck!
