I'm new about knowing Nas (as if I was sleeping under a rock or something lol). I know he is a rapper (a highly respected rapper) and just released his album Hip Hop Is Dead. I do not have the album (actually thinking of getting it), but there is controversy about it. Nas sounds pretty strong about hip hop being dead and I sort of agree. So my questions are...
1. Is his album worth buying?, and
2. What is your personal opinion on Nas himself?

I haven't bought the album, probably won't but I think it will be good. You should buy it. I don't really buy music like talking about it. I like Nas, i used to like him a lot more. He's more of a lyricist than a lot of rappers these days and especially in his older stuff, he makes you think. I really like the new song "Can't Forget about you". Not to hot on hip hop is dead the single tho. All of his songs aren't cleancut tracks as you know, at least on older albums. Like he'll have a song about something positive and then it'll be like "you owe me" which is i guess you would call a club joint. The mixture is kind of like how tupac would go back and forth btw positive and negative. But this new album is a little different i think. If you go to amazon you can hear clips of it, just type in the album title-the n in the search.

what form of stupid question is that? Eminem is the terrific ever. he's a few distance greater effective than Nas in my opinion. Do you comprehend how not undemanding it somewhat is to make a recognition for your self interior the rap industry once you're white? Eminem is the subsequent 2Pac. Has Nas ever gained 9 grammys? NO! Has Nas ever made a action picture? NO! Has Nas offered as many albums as Eminem? NO! so which you would be able to desire to respond to your question Eminem is the greater effective MC.

Haven't heard the newest Nas record, but I'd probably pass...if you want to get down on Nas, check out (in this order): Illmatic (one of the sickest hip-hop albums ever), It Was Written, and Stillmatic (if only for "Ether," the culmination of a one-sided rap battle with Jay-Z).

Also, check out Olu Dara, a pretty phenomenal blues musician who just happens to be Nas' dad.

nas hasn't come out with a good album since 1994's illmatic, he normally comes out with one good club song and the rest is garbage, which coincidentally is one of the reasons he says hip hop is dead, hip hop is not dead, new york hip hop is dead and it died with biggie and pun. nas sells have steadily declined so he is trying to stir up some controversy so he can get some people to buy his trash

instead download chamillionaire's mixtape messiah volume 2, he's giving it away at his website, he kills nas's track with his own version of "hip hop is dead". after listening to cham you will realize hip hop is not dead.

1. I don't think the album is worth the $. He doesn't have a lot of good songs on it.
2. Nas is a cocky guy that isn't very good at his game anymore
