Advil
It has absolutely no side affects and you have to take more than 5 in a one hour period to overdose so you don't have to worry about that.
DON'T TAKE Aspirin.
It's a blood thinner and doesn't help headaches at all. It doesn't even help with heart attacks to speak of. Harvard did a study and it said that it only help decrease heart attacks by 3% and only in men.
All it will make you do is bleed. The only way it helps a headache if its do to blood pressure in the brain.
Advil is an anti-inflammatory and lessens swelling in the brain which is the major cause of headaches. It also helps with arthritis, soreness, and lessens other minor pain. My dad has only used Advil for 6 years and he loves it.

I suffer from migraines. If 2 tylenol don't do it then I use Bayer aspirin. If that doesn't do it then I need to get codeine.
My dad used to take BC powders and a friend of mine also uses them. I can't find them or I'd try them.
Pay attention to where the pain is. Is it sinus pressure or is it around the head somewhere. If it's sinus then buy something for sinuses. Ask the pharmacist to help. Show them where you are hurting. It matters.

Aleve is the best. Got rid of a migrane I still remember 10 years later. I am a faithful fan.

ib prophen
talinal pm (or when i have a headace at night and cant get to sleep very good because i am in so much pain)
advil

I take the only thing that works for me...Excedrin Tension Headache. It not only gets rid of headaches but other aches as well.

If I take anything, I'll take Nurofen which is an Australian headache tablet.
It is coated with a sweet shell, so they are easy to swallow.

I usually buy the generic brand of pretty much all those, and it depends on what kind of headache or pain I have.
