I am 19 weeks pregnant with twins and I haven't experienced any weight gain. At my check up three weeks ago I had lost a pound from my previous appointment. Everything I have seen says to gain between 35-45 pounds. I have an appointment on Tuesday and I definately plan to talk to my doctor about it. But I was wondering if any of you have had twins and could share your experience.

I had twins and lost a lot of weight in the beginning of the pregnancy and then held steady for a few visits. At that time I was also rarely hungry and had no appetite. When I talked to the doctor about it at around 24 weeks, he was not very concerned, but gave me "permission" to eat whatever I wanted whenever I wanted. The weight gain recommendations that most sources have are so general that it is just better to ask your doctor about your individual situation.

I gained 40 pounds with my twins, they were delivered at 7 months...I gained weight fast but I read books about people carrying twins who only ended up gaining 20 pounds all and all and generally people don't start gaining a lot of wieght till the fourth or fifth month. If the people at the check up weren't concerned about it I don't think you shouldn't be you may just be one of those lucky people who don't gain that much weight....lucky you!

I wouldn't worry about it yet. Talk to the dr about it then. I didn't gain weigh in my early pregnancy. It depends on your prepregnancy weight, too. :)
