Man had a vasectomy when he was younger (30's) now his young girlfriend is pregnant. Is that possible. He is now over 50... and is a boarder line diabetic but in good health.

Yes I know a couple that got pregnant a few years after her husband had one done.. It almost caused them to divorce.. She finally talked him into going and making sure it didnt come undone.. She never cheated on him so that was the only explanation.. He went in and sure enough it had reversed itself.. Everything was fine with them after that.. But yeah they can come undone and in this case the woman become pregnant....

Anything can happen. There is the the possibility of recanalization. Recanalization means that even though the surgeon removed a piece of the vas and sealed the ends, they grow back together and make the man fertile again. Either that, or his girlfriend had an love affair. There's a chance that they got pregnant with donor sperm, or if his if it was stored. Numerous things.

Believe me any age of man can get a woman pregnant.

Of course it's possible for her to be pregnant. It's just not probable that your man with the vasectomy is the father. Sounds like there may be a Nubian in the fireplace fuel supply.

Go back to your doctor and have him do sperm count, it is possible, and before you confront the young woman, make sure of your status. Its not likely, but it certainly does happen, and being 50 or borderline diabetic has nothing to do with it if intercourse and ejaculation are still possible.

Certain forms of vasectomey are more likely to fail over time. The easiest thing for you to do is to go to the doctor and get a sperm count done. Fast, painless, and your partener doesn't need to know.

Mind you if you really think she could be cheating only DNA will let you know for sure if the baby is hours.

Yes, it is possible. Vasectomies strongly reduce the number of semen that get through. It's not very likely.. but... it could've grown back together or a few sperm may have survived!

it's possible, especially with the lesser technology from 2 decades ago. No method of birth control is fool-proof--not even vasectomies or tubal ligations. It is extremely rare, though.

I would say no because he would have to go have it reversed.I had a tubaligation when I was 27 and I am 36 now and I haven't gotton pregnant.

It's possible but I don't think it's likely to happen. Maybe you should ask for a paternity test!

Small possibility, but very unlikely.
