I've been a leafs fan all my life...i've lived in toronto all my life lol. They disappoint me at times too. There have been fantastic games where you can just tell they have their game goin. But then the next day, eventhing goes down the drain and they play terrible, uncoordinated hockey.
I don't think its a problem with the management...even though they should jump at chances to sign key players one they're put in the market.
As for the players we have..some of them are just losing their touch. McCabe needs to get goin, White needs to do better, etc. We have yet to see Green score. I remember he used to be a great player, but now he isn't scoring b/c he's just not paired up with the right people. Originally, he was on the same line as belak...i mean, didn't we get him to score goals for us? But the 4th line is hardly played.
I dunno...it's probably too late to do anything now. Another season without a playoff spot. Or maybe not...who knows.

the situation isn't that the Leafs are a bad team, they're an "standard" team. For the final 60 years they have bought out each interest whether or no longer they win or lose. interior the final 40 years they have never long previous to the Stanley Cup finals yet maximum years they do make the playoffs, in many situations going one or 2 rounds. they have never had a protracted stretch of playoff frustration such because of the fact the purple Wings had from the time Howe left till Yzerman got here and the purple Wings no longer often ever made the playoffs. seem at them right this moment. Toronto could actual earnings from numerous undesirable seasons and threats of moving the team. Then they could do something.

Eventually I'm sure BUT--- the Leafs are not that good but unlike other teams in that predicament they do not have alot of hope in the near future. Most of the other teams that are not that good have hope with some blue chippers coming soon or real good young talent with them now. I hardly consider Wellwood, Stajan, Steen, Colchiococo(whatever the spelling is) hope. Not exactly a Crosby, Staal, Malkin,Letang, Fleury group or even a (worst team in the league) Richards, Carter, Pitkanen, Downie,Parent type of group. The Leafs wasted alot of their talent (pre-lock-out) on stupid trades and Pat Quinn mortgaged the future on the likes of Owen Nolan.
That said, they are very deep in up and coming blue chip goalies like Justin Pogge and that Czech guy BUT-- IMO, there is no such thing as a blue chip goalie-see Jean Marc Pelletier or Michel Oullet (As a Flyer fan these were supposed to be the next Roy's).
Sorry to say, the future is bleak.

Coming from Boston I and being a big sports fan in general I can tell you that there are a lot of similarities to the Leafs in Hockey and the Red Sox in Baseball,it all comes down to management we got new owners and management and they finally won the World Series,I think Chiarelli is building the Bruins up nicely but we pray to god every year that Jacobs will sell them,Fergie doesnt have a clue and you have to get lucky to find a good GM.

As a Fellow Leafs' Fan, I feel your pain. Where I see their problem being is a lack of Grit. As you know Tie Domi retired, Darcy Tucker has been out of the lineup, and Wade Belak, even though he can throw with the best Enforcers in the NHL, he needs a little help. The Leafs need to add some toughness to their lineup.

Sad to say the Leafs play hockey almost as well as the Chicago Bears. Yes, I really do know what I just said. Sad, ain't it?

They have sucked for years, they are only interested in running a business, not winning the cup...good teams buy good players, they don't reward mediocre players like Bryan Mcabe
