Ok: I live in California, and every week American Idol's elimination night is on Thursday at 8 pm, and it's live. But now I'm really confused as to why so many people know who gets off tonight. Can somebody please explain this to me??? I mean, I know that there's always the time difference as an explanation, but it's always live, so that doesn't make any sense...

I do believe it's the time difference. I am not sure why they would advertise the show as live? My advice is: If you don't want to know the outcome, avoid the internet (messageboards, news websites, entertainment news, etc.) and local news progams.

its live in eastern time.it is recorded for the western time zone.when it comes on at 8 in the east it is actually only 5 in the west so they record it
