In 1990 Curt Smith left the band to travel to new york to start a new life away fom the fame and sucess of the band, however
the band continued to release tracks under the leadership of Roland Orzabal it's other founder member
They did reunite after splitting for 12 years and recorded the album "Everybody Loves A Happy Ending" which was released in April 2004
