I would hardly call the 4g63 7-bolt eclipse bullet proof. More like a money pit. Anyways 95-96 turbo egines are prone to crankwalk. If if doesn't have that problem and you keep up with the maintence it should last well over 100K. I've seen them as high as almost 200K. I am not sure if you are talking about engine rebuild because many people with those cars do that probably between 100K to 150K. Talk to the people on dsmtuners.com. They can give you some insight on that. You want to make that car last then you should swap out the 7-bolt motor with a 6-bolt. Stronger engine that will last longer.

Take as good care of that 7 bolt as you can and save up to do a 4g64/63 Hybrid. What you get is a 2.4L bulletproof motor and the 4G64 7 bolt block is less likely to crank walk from what I've read; I am saving up for this build myself. Also the 95-early 96 DSM's are less prone to CW while the late 96-99 are more prone to CW. But any motor could walk: my sisters WRX walked at 70,000km.
