OR do you think that there is just a social trend towards accepting it more and therefore, it just SEEMS like there are more gay people when there have really been the same amount all along? DO you think there were just as many gay people in the MIddle Ages (whether people ADMITTED they were gay or not) as there are now?

Yes and No. Yes there is a greater population so would increase the number of any group whether that is homosexuals, blacks, Asian, or whatever. However, statistically there are no more homosexuals now than 200 years ago. The difference is you are less likely to be killed for admitting it (unless you listen to Jerry Falwell then no one except white males are safe).

I think that there is the same percentage of gay people in our population as with any time in history. We live in a time of fast media and total knowledge. It may not be all that more accepted (look at ancient greece). It is just more out there for the world to see. There has always been gay people and now as the total pop. grows so does the number of gays. That is a beautiful thing.

You have a question that is almost impossible to answer. In my feelings I really believe that the answer is no. We have now more people proclaiming that they are homosexuals than ever before and not because they are ashamed of it but in many cases proud of it (or at least in their minds). I personally see nothing wrong with a gay person as they are what they are! They have the same love that a so called straight person has and can show that love in a way that no one (no one else can) Middle Ages?----Shoot--Accept it! TODAY! Your bestest friend may be lookin at ur ***

There’s a lot more openly gay people around and there’s a lot more bisexuals who are willing to admit it now. I’m 40 years old and I remember reading at school that there were 4 billion people in the world (at that time). Recently I read that there’s something like 6.5 billions people in the world. That’s a massive amount more people (more people must also mean more gays).

There is a a somewhat fixed percentage of gay people compared to the rest of the population. So when the population goes up, so does the gay population. It is the social trend of acceptance which creates the illusion of a rapid growth of the gay population. Nobody who was straight "turned" gay, they were gay to begin with.. Sexuality is programmed into us during our development in the womb.

Tony, Sodom and Gomorrah weren't destroyed because of homosexuality.

Sodom and Gomorrah were destroyed for their greed, inhospitality, pride, shunning of the poor, and of course angel rape. (Ezekiel 16, Matthew 10:11-15, Luke 10: 8-12, Jeremiah 23:14, Zephaniah 2:4-11) The Bible NEVER refers to homosexuality when referring to Sodom and Gomorrah.

Read your Bible sir, before you use it to defend your position.

I think that because it is more accepted now a days more and more people are feeling comfortable coming out. I don't think that there were less gay people before it's just more prevolent today to be open and okay with it.

Well, there are just MORE people in general, so of course there are going to be more GAY people. It's just like asking,
"Are there more Americans than ever in history?"
As long as people are born each day, there will be more of everything.

The Middle East which predominantly religion controlled under a Monarchial rule may not expose a great number of gays just as they are willing to cover up several promiscuities and as long as they can hide it under their garbs and controlled press, they would only be able shout their anti-west influences but not necessarily the truth about them.

The percentages don't change although the visibility has in many places. There are more gay people now simply because there are more people now.

yes.. there seem to be more and more people "coming out". Being gay is also more common and accepted by society than it used to be a few years ago.
