I live in up state n,y and I have a carbon fiber hood for my car. they seem fragile to me.

if it's coated & sealed, it should be fine. carbon fiber doesn't rot like fiberglass, & it's not as brittle when it's cold. but if your weave is open & you get road salt in it, it'll look like crap come spring. i'm in upstate too (buffalo) so i know ny winters.

I believe they are a little stronger than fiberglass.
