I need to attend a very important summer event in July, and will be wearing a white Yukata (summer kimono), I need to know where to buy large sheet of white good textured cloth online or otherwise. I'll be sewing patterns and decorate it with floral and butterfly and leaf pattern, and perhaps will have to either buy or make an Obi to match.

PS: I'm not buying kimono online, I just need to know where to buy the fabric, please provide some helpful information.

There are many fabric suppliers online.

It depends on how many yards of fabric you want in one piece.

Have you thought of using a good quality high thread count flat king size bed sheet?

Moda Muslin Ten-Yard Bolt 100% cotton, 45'' wide

Kona Cotton 100% cotton, 45" wide is sold by the yard.

100% Linen or Linen Blends are also available.

if that's not what you need - they have much more -

They sell vintage and antique Kimono fabric on E-bay all the time.

Be careful though to try and put "US ONLY" in your preference box first because dealing with over sea's vendors is sometimes shady and often takes forever to ship... Not to mention the price conversion and shipping surprises you often get conveniently after the fact.

Jo-Anne Fabrics and even Walmart sell decent enough fabrics... I have made beautiful Kimono from stuff I got in the dollar bin at Walmart. I have a really nice one with a fan pattern, I only paid $1.00 per yard. It is unlined and a very light weight cotton with an all over asian fan pattern in traditional red.

Very nice!

If you need any pattern or sewing help. Let me know. I can make them both on machine and by hand and I have some excellent patterns for Western sizes. Not to mention I make Inuyasha costimes for my kids at Halloween too.

Kagara's Kimono is rather easy. Even to correctly silk screen it is easy...

You know how to MAKE a yukata? Damn, that's impressive. Do you need to buy the fabric online? Your local Jo-Ann Fabrics should have cloth of a high-enough quality, and if not, you can always ask them to order it for you. (That is, assuming you even HAVEa Jo-Ann Fabrics in your area. XD)

There are probably fabric stores near you. Then you can look at the cloth before you buy it.
