I started out with HTML (not a programming language, I know) and that taught me about open/close statements, then I moved on to JavaScript, then took computer programming in highschool and started on Pascal then moved to C++ and took AP CompSci and did more with C++ and started into JAVA. VisualBasic is still a top language, too, but it seems that things are going more toward object-oriented programming nowadays, which means JAVA.
