Was Orochimaru always evil his whole life or did something made him evil. If so how

Orochimaru started out as a very handsomely and pleasant young boy under the training of Sandaime Hokage, aka professor Sarutobi, along with Jiraiya and Tsunade. Look at the sannin's picture as kids, of the three Orochimaru is the most beautiful looking boy there is. (He's got a good face and features) He is immediately recognized by Sarutobi as a genius in a decade, a hard to come by talent. Under the training of such excellent teacher, his skill excelled very quickly, and also made good friends with Tsunade and Jiraiya. Of the three, Sarutobis favorite is Orochimaru. Handsome, quiet, polite, and well balanced in his training and skill and controlling chakra, Orochimaru was looked upon by Tsunade and Jiraiya. In fact, he was a very good friend of Jiraiya. And of the three, they like to play bets with Tsunade, who always losses. Tsunade's summon is Katsuyu (slug), Jiraiya is Gamabunta (toad), and Orochimaru is Manda (Python, not just snakes)

However, despite the promising nature of this once in a life time talent, Orochimaru's serene nature hide an inner malice. This is noticed by Sarutobi from the very beginning, however, the professor treasured his skill and talent and wanted to turn his dark nature to the path of good. Orochimaru's high talent earned him his Jouunin at a young age.

Such talent and skill eventually breed in his mind the darkness that craved for power, and Orochimaru began experimenting with kidnapped villagers and using forbidden jutsu and potions to find the way to obtain immortality. Under the ambush of Anbu and Sarutobi, Orochimaru is found out. The hokage summoned Enma the Monkey to combat his student. But was unable to force himself to do so, despite Enma's request to have this malic destroyed. Later when Orochimaru combated with Sandaime, he taunted his teacher and remarked:"Is not what sensei said that the most troublesome students are also the most agreeable?"

As time went by, Orochimaru fleed Konoha to develope his skills as a S-class criminal, despite Jiraiya's attempt to get him back. Orochimaru forgo his friendship with Jiraiya and Tsunade for his own ambitions. The lust for power struggle twisted his heart, and made him into one of the most wicked and corrupted person there is.

When he tried to kill Naruto, he is stopped by Tsunade. Orochimaru's evil is further noted by this comment he made to Tsunade, while wounding her serious:"Tsunade, you are the only one I have no intention to kill", and procees to cut her with his knife later.

Orochimaru is also ruthless when it comes to human lives, having sacrificed the life of Tsuchi Kin and Zaku as summon for the Shodaime Hokage and Nidaime Hokage to battle his teacher. He did not just battle his teacher, he called forth 'accomplices' to help him win the battle while using Tayuya and the three other guys to seal up the whole roof top with barrier so that Anbu may not assist Hokage if needed. Otherwise with the skill of Anbu and Hokage combined, Orochimaru would be easily defeated and Hokage would not have died.

Orochimaru has a wierd fascination with beautiful children. When meeting Anko again after so many years, while critically wounding her by bringing up the cursed seal, he stroked her face 'lovingly' while commented that not only has he infected a very handsome boy while he was in the forest, this boy also have a better body and more talent than Anko does.

"Why are you so cold to me....Anko? " -Orochimaru

Notice one thing, even at his age now, Orochimaru's pretty good looking...no offense, it's really a handsome face he has got. Even if it is borrowed, he cna still put on some manly charm with that demeanor of his!

Orochimaru is a sore loser because he cannot be Hokage and therefore detested Hokage. Even worse, he invaded his own village at the cost of many lives. All this, Orochimaru is keenly aware of the loving nature of Konoha's citizens. Speaking to Mizuki once:"I found it fascinating that you killed your comrade, I thought in Konoha everyone is like family!"\

I also have a feeling that the Kiyuubi is introduced into Konoha by Orochimaru, if he can attack Sandaime, Tsunade, invade Konoha in Naruto's time, I see no reason why he should hold back from attacking Konoha with more sinister methods of using the Kiyuubi. You see, back then the 3rd is retired, only a dashing young man (although talented but not as experienced as the 3rd) like Yondaime is ruling Konoha, Orochimaru thought it might be fun to let the fox ruin the village and see what the 4th can do. It is possible that Yondaime is aware of Orochimaru's malice as well.

no when Orochimaru was younger he was actually quiet kind. But when he tried to take over Konoha, and the 3rd Hokage didn't let him, that was when we was bent on trying to destroy Konoha, or at least control it.

no he was the 3rd hokagays students . but when the 4th hokagay died he tried to become one. when he did not he joined the sound village.
