Scotty Bowman. He could put the fear of God into his players and is really by far, the most inspiring. Knew how to get the most out of his players and always had tricks up his sleeve. My favorite was in the play-offs one year, he had the visiting teams dressing room painted on game day so it would reek of fumes LOL. Also, he once told me that guys wouldn't drink out of the Stanley Cup, if they had seen some of the stuff it went through in the day.
Sorry, I missed the current coach thing. Can't say Keenan because he is out this year, can't say Sutter because he is out this year, LeMaire is a good answer but he is more of a good coach, I don't know about inspiring. Maybe someone like McTavish, I could really see guys wanting to play hard for this guy, thus making him inspiring. Little help this year but nonetheless. Duh. Gretzky -who would take a night off for this guy. Oh yeah. Nagy would.
Also, it is said that Keenan (again not current) would tell one Sutter brother that if he didn't score, his brother was going down to the minors. How's that for inspiration??

Current coach ... would have to be Lamaire ... look at what he did with the Devils and now with the Wild ... most people can't name four players on the Wild, yet they are consistently fighting for a playoff spot. Lamaire perfected the Trap and has employed it to his advantage, even without the red line in play.
I liked the later answer of Nolan also. Look at the Islanders of the past and what he has done since going there. Lots of good players that unachieved. He does have that effect on guys.

well the best insiring even though hes not good at it is wayne gretzky but the best of the best is scoty bowman but i hate both of them
