Basically they are trying to figure out the exact time when you are going to be ovulating. Your cycle is the days between the last day of you previous period, to the first day of that months cycle. This helps them determine when the best time to try is. I hope this helps, and good luck.

Most women have 28 day cycles..The first day begins when your period starts and the last day is the day before it starts again..They ask you that to determine the day of your ovulation period which is 14 days before your period..If your pregnant they can determine how far along you are and when your due date is

It means how many days is there from the first day of your period to the day before your next one. For example if you got your period Jan. 31 and the next one Feb. 28, your cycle is 28 days. Counting from and including Jan 31 to Feb 27. You dont count the Feb 28 because that is the start of your next period.
