The "IN GOD WE TRUST" slogan is written on the edge of the coin. Instead of being ribbed, the edge is smooth and the words are engraved there along with "E PLURIBUS UNUM."

Pictures from the US Mint web site are in the attached source.

I don't really care what my money says as long as there's more coming than going out. The thing that gets me is, why do so many people feel the need for God to be on their money? Isn't money the root of all evil? Why would you want God associated with that?

Wish I had a few at $50.00 a pop. They will fail like the Susan B. Anthony coins did.

The words "In God We Trust" are on the new dollar coins.

The words are placed on the rim (a first for U.S. coinage) along with the date and mint mark

It's a printing error. They also don't have the year stamp, and all the other text that went around the edge.

But watch -- see how long it is before someone tries to make this into some big conspiracy against religion.... any bets?

It is just another part of our heritage lost to liberalism. Our founding fathers would not be happy about it.

I think it's great. As an agnostic I would really appreciate having money that doesn't have god on it.
