ok size of a tank is not a problem, and neither is heat/food ect. the only thing is i want to get them to a point where he is kinda laid back, and will settle for riding around on my shoulder. i have one picked out at my local reptile mart, hes a baby about twice as long as my index finger with his tail (mabe longer)

They're a very nice lizard, but require lots of room (plan custom built enclosure as an adult) or they will rub their snouts raw against their enclosure walls. Their size will be 2 to 3 ft. depending on the gender of the animal (they need to be at least a foot long to even begin to guess the gender - smaller than this all look female).

These have very specific heat, lighting, and humidity requirements. They are prone to eye infections and respiratory infections because most owners don't provide for their needs properly.

If you're thinking of getting one, look at the link in the sources box - it will give you lots of info on them and what type of set-up you'll need. If you decide that you can keep one properly, they're great.

My baby is about the same size. He's very friendly and after he has settled, he will sit on my hand for a while. When they are so small, I reccomend handling time be done only around the cage in case of escape. Kai got out once and we found him with our iguana, trying to eat a huge piece of collard green.

It only took about three days to tame him up, actually. Hold him and feed him a wax worm or two(never more than one in a sitting for a baby, and this is a treat food only) and more than likely he will never associate you with bad again. But dont make a habit of feeding from your finger, as it can be dangerous down the road.

So, water dragons are the second best to bearded dragons. Good luck and have fun!

My first lizard replaced right into a chinese language Water Dragon, and he or she replaced into so candy. Any animal could be lovey in case you develop them outstanding. i've got by no potential had a Bearded Dragon yet i be responsive to they are extremely candy. i've got 2 chinese language Water Dragons and the two have been large. i might get a Water Dragon, however, purely simply by fact each and every physique else is getting Bearded Dragons. lol

Water dragons are great pets, they aren't that hard to tame, just hold him for at least 15 minutes a day for about 2 weeks and he should calm down nicely, I love water dragons and highly recomend them

i have 3 and they are the more difficult to train. beardies are easier don't get me wrong i love my dragons but they do take a little more time and effort. just my opinion if a beardie is not an option yes get a water dragon.

I had one many years ago and he was a sweetheart, they are great pets, just make sure that they have plenty of water and mist them a couple times a day, they are really smart.
