I am currently seeking another job opportunity outside of the Mortgage industry. I have received one job offer that is outside the Mortgage industry that pays more than what I make now.

I am currently a temp/contractor thru a Mortgage company. My current boss has offered me a perm position and has already submitted the paperwork for that...but that was over a month ago. And lately- I have not been happy at work because of a couple of people there and how stressfull the job has become. I have even heard a few of my co- workers saying that they are thinking of leaving...some have even quit. Its a good job with great pay- but I would like to be out of the Mortgage Industry.
Just recently, I asked what was going on and what was taking so long with me becoming perm. My boss told me that it still has to go thru a few other people to approve me to be perm and then he told me to hang tight. I am honestly tired of waiting since it has been over a month.
Should I stay or take the other job?

If you are not happy why do you want to keep it? It only makes it harder to get up and go into work everyday when you do not like your job. Tell your boss you was offered bigger and better and a perm spot and that you are taking it. that you need the hours and the position that is promised to you. You can't wait on him and that you really are not happy there and then go.

The grass is always greener on the otherside. Is the other job interesting to you? Or a stepping stone inthe direction you want? Or would you be happier where you are with more pay and permanancy. I beleive that if you find a job you enjoy doing you will never have to work another day the rest of your life.

I would certainly take the job that pays me more - especially if it's more money AND it's not in the mortgage biz (which you say you don't want).

It's your career, you don't owe your current boss anything other than a 2 week notice.

Hang in there. The mortgage industry is good business and will lead to more money.

take the new job offering. no good reasons in your post for you to stay. You have to put you first. No one else will.

go for the other job. Sounds like your boss is leading you on so that he can keep you there.
