Personally, I'm fine with them being nutty, but I refuse to join them. How do you view them?

Same with me.

What about the Science nuts! You people who spout about Worm Holes, etc.

They're weird too, but I put up with them.

The way I see it, most everyone has a passion of some kind. Some guys are big into NASCAR, with others it's football, others live for hunting, etc., etc.

Well, it has been said that the human mind is "hard wired" to ask mystical questions. Basically, at some point, man tries to "think outside the box" with regard to his existence and he seeks meaning about life.

OK, if you accept those two notions, then I just think "religious nuts" are people whose "passion" involves spirituality.

They seek answers, and they find it within a religious text or belief system....but at some point it just becomes their whole life.

They begin attending scripture study groups and prayer sessions. Their "raison d'etre" - as the French call it - becomes sharing this with other people.

And it would be one thing if it were just benign, friendly "sharing" or handing out pamphlets.

But, some folks get it in their head that God (or their god) gives them total license to just be aggressive and obnoxious.

Sometimes, it ends up with a judge explaining to them the limits of freedom of speech.

That's my version...

They spend way to much time basing there lives over religion.

I mean if people were smart they would see the truth about how religion is all made up.

Heres one of my theries- People die nothing happens they are sent into oblivion. It may seem wrong or scary but its not. If you are not there you have nothing to feel bringing no pain or lonliness. You have 1 life live it well.

They are the people who must be tricked into voting for my special interests. When they're rabid, they can create change. When they're unfocused, they are confused and drool over images in grilled cheese sandwiches.

I feel sorry for them sometimes, because it seems like they can't think for themselves without consulting with the church. But, if that makes them happy then I am happy for them.

Not a problem until they try to rewrite the constitution.
