That's right 3 houses side by side for 23 days with no water as of 3-8-07. Could you survive this long without something so taken for granted? Better us than you right? It's sad that nobody cares. If I were a single 86 year old man with no relatives I would have died by now. Nobody would find my corpse until the IRS came knocking. IMAGINE NO LAUNDRY, NO SHOWERS, NO BATHS, NO WATER FOR PETS, NO CLEAN DISHES. We've been reduced to shoveling 55 gallon trashcans' full of snow into our bathtub, to melt into water and dump into the back of the toilet just to be able to flush. We've tried contacting 3 plumbers(who all say it is NOT our individual homes), Local Water Dept (Manhard Co.), the Illinois Commerce Commission, Attornery General of Illinois, ABC, NBC, CBS, WGN, Senator Barack Obama, Senator Dan Durbin. Has anyone ever had this happen and who can we contact for help before we die?

What did the local water department say when you told them that three plumbers said the problem wasn't in the homes? If the water department isn't coming out to check it then call the mayor's office or some of your city council members.

I must say you contacted the right people. Your senator should be contacted. They will get stuff done. I say they are probably looking into it now. Media is the way along with your senators. Anytime you have a problem thats what the senators are there for. Call them too. Bug the hell out of them.
Good luck

Those are some pretty deplorable living conditions. I don't know your entire situation, but if possible, you should contact the local authorities.

Did you pay your water bill? Something sounds kinky here.
If you don't own the place, pack up and move.
