On many of my qs people assume things that arnt true. One example is a q that my freind asked: how do many african american woman move their head back and forth without moving their bodys? People assumed he was being racest even though he used the term african american rather than the word black or the n word. But people wanted to assume. Have you ever asked a q that people took the wrong way and do you think the q that he asked was racest?

No i dont but yes i have its like walking a tight rope the smallest of errors results in a fall. The same as the smallest words can offend and often does so even when not intended to its just the world we live in unfortunatley.

They probably assumed that the questioner was promoting a racial stereotype. And that makes people angry.
By the way, I am white and I can move my head back and forth without moving my body.

I am going to assume that you don't use spell check and are very rash in your own question asking. Yes it happens- people always jump to conclusions and depend on stereotypes its what makes us humans. It's unfortunate and probably won't change anytime soon- but work on spelling RACIST....
*By the way your friend should have phrased his question as so: "Why do many films and tv shows portray african american women to move their necks frequently?" it's not what you say, it's how you say it.

It's hard to ask a question like that without it being taken offensively, no matter what your intentions.

I went to a predominately white high school and the kids would always ask me questions like that, like I wanted to answer questions about racial stereotypes all day.

Through the years I learned some were just honestly curious but most were trying to make me angry, but all were ignorant when it comes to my culture.

I thought that I was the only one that had this problem. I must have a communications problem. It gets very exhausting having to say everything to myself first to make sure (or at least hope) I have worded everything correctly and won't cause an argument or hurt feelings.

not really. I once asked if it was possible to ride a segway without looking like an arrogant jerk(I won't use the real word, in case someone reports me). Unfortunately the only people who bothered to answer were people who owned a segway.

I think the question was just plain stupid, but not racist at all and yes, I have asked many questions that people took the wrong way.
