I like learning from the answers I receive, but I also enjoy helping someone out by answering a legit question that they need help with. The only time I "discover" is if I vote on an undecided question.

I like answering, mostly, but I also love those happy little emails the next day, that tell you your answer was chosen as a Best Answer. It always puts a little dance in my step, and is a nice way to start the day, feeling like I actually helped someone!
I also get a small thrill, meandering around, giving thumbs up here and there. Kind of like an anonymous Santa. ;-)
