in my dream i dreamt about my ex bf from 9 yrs ago he was my 1st love we spilt bad and it was a happy time together but in dream he turned up in the preseant day and we were and got back together(trust me i would never take him back if i still new him)this dream as really spooked me as im going through a really chapter in my life and happy with my chap of 6 yrs so why would i be dreaming about this bad person from my past and we are real happy??

Your subconscious is probably playing with you right now. Maybe you thought about it for a second...how it used to be with your ex and your subliminal mind caused you to dream it...don't worry about it...i've had dreams of my ex...happens to everyone.

You consciously did the research.
Your unconscious wrote, produced, directed and cast the movie that is your dream. You were left out of that loop.
The ex is just an actor and as such, he can be used as a symbol or as a stand-in for someone else.
From my own experience, I have looked different in my own dream. I have placed an actor or the character an actor plays,( Jean-Luc Picard from Star Trek, Next Gen.), into a perfectly mundane dream as my next-door neighbor. He was wearing regular clothing, but I kept thinking, "What the H*!!?"
Dreams are surreal. Don't concern yourself with who, randomly, shows up in a dream. Please don't give it any more meaning. OK?

As a mental health clinician with 20+ years experience, now retired, I can confidently tell you that such a dream means you're human, have a half-way decent memory, can sleep well enough so that you have REM (Rapid Eye Movement) or "deep" sleep which is essential to your physical and mental health, and most likely are not suffering from any chronic depression or mania or other mental illness.
