Sinn Fein is the political arm of the Irish Republican Army. Have they yet renounced their connection with terrorism? Even if they have not, would it be safer for society to let them be part of the political process and share power if they can get enough votes?

If the people of Northern Ireland do not want to remain part of Britain, then why have they rejected secession from Britain in every election for eighty years?

The USA once invaded Canada but mostly has accepted the right of the northern part of North America to remain British so long as they choose. Why not let the people of Northern Ireland stay part of Britain? Isn't that what most of them want?

If Northern Ireland is forced to join the Republic of Ireland, should Texas and Arizona similarly be forced to join Mexico?

Northern Ireland has been part of Britain for 207 years. Before that Ireland was ruled brutually by the English and the Irish have good reason to hate domination by the English. But in 1800 the Act of Union made Ireland part NOT of England but of BRITAIN. Then around 1922 Eire seceded. The north chose NOT to secede so still is part of Britain. And most of the people there want to keep it that way.

Lines on a map. Many wars are fought about those lines on maps. Does it make a difference?

Eire and GB are both commited to Europe so what would the IRA gain? Some fictional level of control? A battle against the English started 10 generations ago? A different currency?

Time for the world to wake up to the concept that we are all human and those lines on the map are just means to control the population and keep politicians in power.

I vote for Sinn Fein yet i won't have the ability to work out them being in finished government until this is a united eire that's easily not for some years. i'm greater centre suited wing than liberal and that i think eire would desire to alter into insular after reunification and the tip of partition. because it stands Sinn Fein would be on the top of stormont interior of 5 years after that in line with possibility yet another 3 years for a referendum and right this is the super yet! too many countries have a vested interest with the 6 counties with the aid of NATO/UN. Democracy would say specific to a united eire yet attempt telling that to the Brits whilst they have have been given the backing of the u . s . to 'launch' oil wealthy center jap states.

No they shouldn't they are just a front for the IRA who are terrorists that have killed women and children, its the same as letting al-Queda run for election in Iraq. And you are right the majority of Northern Ireland accept the British but for a small minority of trouble makers and Sinn Fein are the worst you dont change your politics overnight.

So, you say the Quebecois should not be allowed to do the French thing, and should be excluded from Canadian politics? It's the same thing. In order for peace to prevail, both sides of the issue must be allowed a voice in politics. Anything else would make the UK an international mockery of the freedoms they claim to protect.

That all depends if you think Northern Ireland is a part of Ireland or a part of England.
