Any teams never score 200 points. Pistons beat Nuggets 186-184 triple overtime in 1983 which almost close to 200 points.

Eventually I think it can be done

the most points for a first half is 107
and the most for a second half is 97

together that's over 200 and if you had a really great team catch fire against a run and gun no defense team look out

and that's not even including overtimes

Probably not- unless a game goes four or five overtimes. The Nets and Suns game in 2 OT earlier this year went 161-157. Maybe the Suns might try to go for 200 if some team in a meaningless game decides not to play defense.

It's completely possible for an NBA team to put up 200 points in regulation. Troy State did it in the college ranks a few years back with a ridiculously up-tempo style and solid 3-point shooting, so I would expect that some day a good NBA team will score 200 on a bad franchise.

Won't happen. An average single overtime game will have less than 100 field goals taken by one side or the other. That is about 1.8 shots per minute per team. That means a team would have to hit 1.8 shots per minute to score 200 w/o 3PT FG's. That leaves you with 0% chance of missing a shot the whole game. Highely improbable. Even a 3 period OT, which is 63 mins long, would require unreal play to push 200. 1.8 Made Shots Per Minute for 63 minutes would only score 226 PTS with 2's only. Let me remind you that the average team does not even attempt 1.8 shots per minute.

It'll likely be done at some point given enough OTs. Its certainly not impossible.

If Wilt can score 100 in a game, then the 200 point barrier can be broken by two teams at the same time.

I would think in the next 15 years it will happen. For 2 reasons.
1. Scoring is higher than ever
2. There are more OTs than ever

Highly unlikely. Especially now with all the emphasis they put on playing defense. Maybe in an All Star game they'll do it someday.
