Because most everyone they associate with is a Christian conservative. People generally base decisions on what they can see, feel, know, etc. If you look at only people that call themselves active Christians, however, they are the majority. Their demographic has been increasing dramatically over the last 30 years at the expense of what used to be called mainstream Christian religions.

Are you the authority on who is, and isn't a Christian? Am I? Because I myself have been constantly thinking about it. Can you give me YOUR definition, since you appear able to discern a Christian from one who isn't?

Christian's are the majority religion in America. When they are led to think that voting a certain way is, in fact, the thing to do if you are a "Christian", they usually do encompass the "majority" reasoning behind a certain vote.

If you haven't watched "Jesus Camp", you ought to. It was produced by two liberal cousins of yours, but I think it's a mostly fair portrayal. Personally, I think it's scary the power they do indeed have. But don't take MY word for it. Two liberal women made the movie. See it. And listen to the commentary.

People usually think they're in the majority because they surround themselves with people who believe the same things they do.

It's hard for anyone to get an unbiased perspective on the world.
