As a Hispanic, I have to say that your in tough position. If you have been to a juvenile hall and they classified it as a hate crime then yes your in trouble. If not then no. However you should never be there in the first place. I must say that the best way in defending your brown pride is to be educated. No you are not a criminal. but this is the first step that will get you caught up in the system. Once your in your in and theres no going back. Education is the key to into preventing any injustices that will occur throughout your life. This goes for any minority.

I know of two people who were in juvy. In Colorado, the system seems to treat the kids okay. They pretty much make the kids study all the time for school, or clean. The one in Texas wasn't so nice, according to a young girl I know. She said that another girl raped her with a broomstick, and the overseers/guards wouldn't even take her to a hospital.

I am not pointing a finger at you, but I am saying that regardless where you go, you need to find friends and allies quickly. Humans are very social animals, and the outcasts seem to get the brunt of the bad news.

The one in Colorado lost several hundred dollars of his possessions (books, clothes, longboard) when he got out. The system refused to replace them. Don't take a lot of personal items. Don't expect to walk out with what you originally had. Have an ally on the outside that is willing to spend time visiting you. The person in Colorado did, the one in Texas didn't. If the system knows someone is checking on you, they will treat you better.

Hope this wasn't a fluff answer.

no. Mtv probably tweaked juvy, i don't know personally cuz i haven't been there. Im supposing it's like jail but slightly different. Normally you go into trial before geting sentence to juvy

Defending your race is fine but make sure that you don't lash out any offensive stuff to the other people or use fists. The best thing that you can/should do is to ignore them eventhough they insult your race. What people say may /may not be true, so if you think that it isn't true, then don't do anything.

stop a fire with water not with fire (usually xP)
meaning: let the other person's fire (anger) burn out by itself. Don't enrage the person further

im no lawyer but this might classify as a hate crime...due to your words "black vs. mexicans fight" if you label it that then im sure the court will have no problem labeling it that too. "Brown pride world wide"?? Even though you say your not racist i think the judge will see you as a racist. And dont base a show like juvy's on real life. They seem to be a lot more easy going on that show.

The juvies on MTV is real. It is not a drama series. What happens there is what really goes on. Some Juvinile detention centers are worse than that.

Violent response to words, even hateful words, is not an acceptable response in this society. You let them bait you. Maybe you wanted a reason to hurt them as well??

Your lucky no one got seriously injured.

Stop with the "bad self" attitude and start acting like an adult.

No, Juvenile is not MTV. Grow Up.

Walk away and learn, that not every insult is worth even paying attention too.

I've never been to juvy so there isn't much I can tell you. The only thing I've heard is that sometimes good kids learn how to become criminals in there.

Yes. Absolutely. Probably worse because the kids on the Mtv show are probably threatened to be on their best behavior. I have heard really bad stories from a few people I know who were there.

Put it this way...Juvy is a place for out of control minors. Usaully gang affiliated, adopted orphans, unloved children, confused, and too strong willed for thier own good.

Expect to be disrespected.

When I was growing up my mom put the fear of God in me and I never got into any trouble like that growing up.

It's one thing standing up for what you believe in, but if your putting someone's health at risk...you gotta pay the price.

good luck
