If you look up the London telephone book you would find dozens. Its a common surname.

For the royals the name "Windsor" was something they adopted shortly before the First World War. Their original name was Hannover, which is where they were originally from. But to sound less germanic they changed it to something a little more anglo saxon (har har). I'm sure there are plenty of Windsors running around Great Britain who have nothing to do at all with the royal family....
