The distance from home plate to dead center field is Sun Devil Stadium is 404 feet. A baseball diamond is a square with a distance from home plate to first base of 90 feet, How far is it from first base to dead center field?

I have tryed to do it a million differnt ways and I can not get any of the above answers! please help!!

The key is that there is a 45o angle between the 404 ft long line to dead centre and the 90 long line to first base.
Using the law of cosines for oblique triangles
Knowing two sides with an angle in between we can work out the length of the side opposite the known angle.
c^2 = a^2 + b^2 - 2abCosC
= 404^2 + 90^2 - 2x404x90xCos(45)
= 163216 + 8100 - 51421
= 119895
c = 346.3 feet
