it depends. in some ways it's easier. but there is still new stuff that can be really difficult. and it depends on how good you play acoustic

They are basically the same and usually tuned to the Spanish tuning of E-A-D-G-B-E which are the six strings starting with the bass string. There are different tunings like open chord tunings and drop D tunning and acoustic and electric can accomodate any tuning depending on sound construction. But an electric usually has the ability to do more because it does not depend on acoustics, but instead has magnetic pick-ups that respond to vibration magnetically. This is very much like a record player for electrics and it requires amplification. Much of what you can do with an electric acoustic or an electric guitar depends upon what you can do with the sound you can make. Note that a different kind of pick-up must be used for a classical guitar because the strings are not all made of metal and often times a microphone is used for the guitar or the amp. An assortment of effects can be used in the form of a foot peddle and/or through a line out on the amp to a processer and then through a larger amp used in stage work or a mixing board. In either case, an EQ adjustment can make a big difference in any amplified application. MUSIC is a LIVE art form and if you don't get it right or were not there -you missed it.

yes accoustic is a little harder. strings are harder and i would say its easier to move up and down the fret board. accoustic is good for if u want a beautiful sound but a lot of people play electric to sound with distortion

You will catch on easily, but you will also discover many tricks & techniques that are either very hard or completely impossible on the acoustic, when you use the amp and especially distortion.
