We live in a White society, with a media dominated by White people promoting Caucasian images. A lot of people like people that look more similar to them, others just have their mind made up about what is beautiful and what isn't. I'm African myself and their are a lot of beautiful natural African women but their rarely seen on TV or magazines. I think Oluchi is becoming more famous she's in sport illustrated, victoria secret and she has authentic west african features.

Studies done around the world have shown a significant trend towards males prefering lighter skin. Females of all races tend to have somewhat lighter skin, so many males unconsciously associate it with feminine qualities. So there may be an evolutionary componant to it.

That said, cultural attitudes and personal preference far outweight any biological trends (if they in fact exist). In the United States, black women historically have had to live harder lives and take on more masculine roles than women of other races. The cultural attitude became that black females were less feminine, and therefore less attractive. That is changing somewhat I think.

It's certainly a matter of opinion and cultural influence. In the US, we have built such a high standard for beauty, one that involves make-up, plastic surgery, this ideal of a perfect thin body....I think that the women of Africa, particularly in certain tribal regions, have a very natural, rugged beauty, which to some westerners isn't beauty at all. But again, it all depends on your standards for beauty. In the US, we value thin, toned bodies. In Fiji, for example, they prefer larger women.

People have made an image of what is beautiful and not. Others think that black women aren't beautiful because is just not their type.

Simply put, someone decided that Caucasians were the gold standard.

Sounds like someones full of pride.

I like Proverbs 29:23 - A man's pride will bring him low, but the humble in spirit will retain honor.

I do not think that Blacks like real black people. If one looks at a so called "Black Men" or "Black Women" magazine in the magazine racks, those are about 75% WHITE and I mean light skined people. NO AFRICAN BLACKS IN THOSE MAGAZINES.

I agree with you, they just dont like black. Its unpopular. I see on the WEb that Black educated girls in aged 18 thur 35 seek out WHITE men, not blacks, reason: Black men are Lazy and do nothing and they dont like Black its not what they want for their Offspring. They want a light colored skin baby, kind of a "golden " skin child.
