well thats a huge conclusion to draw. People, especially in America are hard headed and individualistic- perhaps if this was an authoritarian regime- you'd have more luck 'encouraging' people to eat vegan and refrain from television viewing- but think realistically. In America we are competing in a global economy, in order to maintain our status as a powerful and unique country, we must be able to compete. The agriculture and food industry has a huge influence over the economy of many other nations other than our own- if we become vegan and stop producing many of the food items we do, we would no longer be able to export food to third world nations who depend on our food stuffs. If we stopped watchign television our entire media would be driven to a halt and our cultural impact would vanish quickly overtime- our powerful prescence in the world would evaporate. Veganism is an expensive lifestyle choice- it will be at least until we can convert our culture to assimilate, but what about families on welfare and recieving food stamps? You'd have to revamp the entire food industry- next time you go shopping for groceries take note/ask your local grocery store how many vegan food items (that can sustain a human being- in all honesty) are able for purchase with food stamps-

I am a vegetarian, and I think that vegans are fruitcakes. I know seven vegans, and most of them live on potato chips. They have skin like Colorado, potholed roads, and they look ill.

Sometimes television is vital for communication. Amber Alerts, presidential speeches, history channel, and PBS. I actually don't watch TV during the school year, to keep up my grades, but have to spend a lot of time reading the news online to keep up.

Why do people think that we must live an all or nothing society? As a vegetarian, I don't tell people that they shouldn't eat meat. I don't rag on them and try to convert them to my principles. I absolutely detest PETA, and wish those freakshows would drop off the face of the earth.

Sitting here eating a rare steak sandwich while watching the news on TV it occurs to me that you'd have much better luck trying to stop conflict in the Middle East than you will running for President on that platform.
However I'll wish you good luck.
Brb...I need to go get more rare steak for my sandwich.

You lost my vote with the vegan thing. Vegitarian is the Native American word for "lousy hunter".
