At that age, it seems like they are eating CONSTANTLY. It depends on if you are breastfeeding or formula feeding. If you are breastfeeding, breastmilk is digested faster, so they will need to eat more often. Probably every two or three hours or so. My son was a fast nurser and would only take about 10 minutes to finish, but my friend's baby liked to take her time and would take about 45 minutes. You will probably feed 2 hours after you started the last feeding.

If you are formula feeding, they can go longer...maybe up to 4 hours.

In a growth spurt, they will probably want to eat more frequently. Generally, they tell you to feed "on demand" now. So follow your baby's cues more than the clock. If he is making sucking motions, turning to your breast (if nursing), rooting around for a nipple, he's probably hungry. I think when my son was young, any time he cried I probably tried food first (that is usually why he was crying.)

If you are concerned he's not getting enough, watch wet diapers. You want 6 or more wet diapers a day.

At this age, you probably feel like all you ever do is feed the baby. I caught up on a lot of Tv while I nursed my son those first few months. By the time you hit 3 months, it seems to slow down a bit and you can actually do things. Good luck!! Hope this helps. Oh, and here's a website with some good info:

Should eat every 2 hours as young as he is. He should take about 2 to 3 oz's of formula if you are bottle feeding. He will let you know if that is enough or not enough. I have 3 children and that's the way I fed all of them.

GENERALLY, it will be about 2.5 to 3 hours from the start of one feeding to the start of the next. But, don't put your baby on a strict schedule. Aim for full feedings, not snacking, and your son's feeding should fall into a natural schedule.

feed him on demand, whenever he's acting hungry. In general it's around every 2 hours for breastfed babies and sometimes longer in bottlefed, except at night. My son breastfed every hour when he was this age, i felt like my boobs were gonna fall off.

A one month old should eat on demand...he's still on breast or formula feeding so he processes his meals more quickly than if you fed him a steak. If he wants to eat, feed him.

Try not to worry too much. Babies will usually eat when they're hungry. Just keep in tune to him and he'll let you know.

Breastfeeding is best....just feed him whenever he seems hungry (rooting around)....if you nurse him, it's not like you are wasting formula or time making bottles, just try it and see if he's hungry.
